Evening anticipation at the Ambassade (Limbourg, B) for a great day at Rolduc Abbey (Kerkrade, NL)
Presentation of the Stichting EURIADE badge of honor to Ambassadeur Jörg Schmitz-Gielsdorf
On the following day, 3 June 2018, Stichting EURIADE will award the EURIADE badge of honour (honorary badge holder since 1980) to Dr. Jörg Schmiz-Gielsdorf, Ambassadeur du Pays de Rode, in the Aula Minor of ROLDUC Abbey (Kerkrade, NL). He would like to express his great pleasure about this special honor bestowed upon him by organizing a special piano concert. The EURIADE has as its central concern to open up access to a humane understanding of the world and a humane world for the children and youth of our world (The EURIADE at a glance). This is why WERNER JANSSEN launched the "Youth in Dialogue" initiative over 40 years ago. In the course of this initiative, young people are also given the opportunity to enter into a dialog with the current recipient of the MARTIN BUBER PLAQUET about the shaping of this world from the perspective of a socially renowned personality - including Mikhail Gorbachev, most recently Father Shay Cullen and this year in November 2018 Paul van Vliet, who was installed as Dutch UNICEF ambassador by the famous actress Audrey Hepburn.
The piano concert will therefore be performed by a very special pianist, namely eleven-year-old Nisrine Bourkia.
Nisrine Bourkia is 11 years old and attends the 6th grade at Goethe-Gymnasium in Stolberg. Mother Yasemin Bourkia: "The pediatrician recommended that we let Nisrine learn an instrument in view of her extraordinarily rapid development in order to challenge and encourage her. She started playing the piano when she was just 5 years old.
Nisrine achieved the following highlights in this short period of learning:
- "Jugend musiziert": 1st prize
- Youth competition of the German Tonkünstler Association: 1st prize
- International Youth Competition "Jugend Goes Classic": 2nd prize
