Former Prime Minister Dries van Agt: "He is one of the most dynamic idealists I have ever met."
Werner Janssen, artistic director of the Euriade, accepted the European Citizens' Prize for the Stichting Euriade with reference to the responsibility towards young people, particularly in view of the current refugee dramas. Proposed by Aachen MEP Sabine Verheyen, this special European award honored an international commitment to the youth of the world and their dialogical encounters as part of the annual "Youth in Dialogue" event. Former Prime Minister Dries van Agt gave the laudatory speech. Members of the Dutch parliament conveyed the government's greetings. The event was moderated by Jörg Schmitz-Gielsdorf, Ambassadeur du Pays de Rode.
